All
of the odds that are listed below are based upon Las
Vegas odds that were posted August 26, 2004 and may
differ from your favorite Internet Sport Book Super
Bowl odds, which generally gives you even better odds.
One thing is certain though; the odds will undoubtedly
change between the time of this posting and the day
of the big show.
Jacksonville
Jaguars
Jaguars
(30:1)
Young, athletic, a good running back, a good receiver,
a young unproven quarterback, a hard nosed defense.
Sound like anybody? Sure, sounds like the Panthers
a year ago. Well, at 30:1 I might just take a chance
at these Jaguars being a touchdown better than the
Panthers a year ago. One TD and the Panthers could
have been Super Bowl champions. Byron Leftwhich is
a winner. We've seen it in college and we might see
it in the pro's as quick as this year. Jack Del Rio
is going to try and make it easy on Byron by giving
the pigskin to Fred Taylor as much as possible. Fred
is one of the fastest most explosive backs in the
league, and with his injuries behind him, he's set
for a season that will show the rest of the NFL how
good he truly is. The defense struggled a bit last
year, but this year the offense should put them in
better situations. Hugh Douglas is a good player and
I believe he'll try to show it. Marcus Stroud and
John Henderson are huge powerful D-Tackle's, and they'll
dominate again this year. Jimmy Smith is underrated,
even with his age climbing he's one of the best receivers
in the league. Hopefully for the Jag's the young wide
receivers like Reggie Williams and Ernest Wilford
will take advantage of single coverage. Look for the
Jacksonville to play the role of most improved. At
30:1 a twenty dollar bet might make me 600 bucks,
and then I'll be a Jaguar faithful.

Other
Intriguing Prospects: The Seahawks at 12:1,
the Panthers at 15:1, and the Steelers
at 20:1 are also worth recognizing. The Hawks are
loaded at every position and have shown a confidence
that makes them exciting. The Panthers at 15:1 went
to the Super Bowl last year
and almost beat
the heroic Patriots. The Steelers have 3 amazing wide
receivers and Duce Staley has looked great in the
pre-season. He was underused last year in Philly,
and I'm sure he's out to prove it. Add these three
teams to the list. Take a chance on one of the teams
in my elite eight and come out with a little, or a
lot of pocket cash!
