Lucky
Lester here with a little Preseason NFL info for all
you guys out there who, like me, are counting the
days till the NFL regular season kicks off (no pun
intended). Until it does we have a little preseason
action to whet our appetites. If you guys are anything
like me I like to gauge how my favorite teams are
shaping up for future games by really taking a look
at their preseason games. I can't speak for anybody
else but when the mood strikes me I even place a little
wager or two during the preseason with my favorite
online sportsbook. If you do too then you might find
my Winning Tips helpful during the preseason.
Lucky
Lester's NFL Winning Tips
Reserve
Quarterbacks: Key to Victory
The
NFL preseason presents a unique opportunity for winning
wagers. Teams typically play all of their quarterbacks,
whereas in the regular season they stick exclusively
with their starters. In the preseason, starters will
often play only a series or two. Poor plays from the
inexperienced quarterback back-ups most often determine
the game outcome. Lucky Lester's winning strategy
is to bet against teams with weak, inexperienced reserve
quarterbacks. After all, turnovers decide games. Young,
inexperienced quarterbacks turn the ball over.
Having
said that and if you agree with my thinking then you
will be interested in taking a look at Lucky Lester's
Top Five Teams to Bet Against in the Preseason
1.
Dallas Cowboys
With Quincy Carter's departure, the Cowboys were forced
to elevate 40 year old Vinnie Testaverde to the starting
job. Vinnie never was that mobile and his advanced
age makes him an inviting stationary target for an
opposing rusher. Parcels will not risk injury by leaving
him in the game for long in the preseason. Top back-up,
Drew Henson spent the last four years playing baseball
and has never taken an NFL snap. Third string, Tony
Romo has some potential, but is also very raw. Look
for Cowboys to turn it over early and often in the
preseason.
2.
Buffalo Bills
Immobile Drew Bledsoe will see limited preseason action
and his back-ups are highly suspect. JP Cosman is
a project. The number one draft pick from Tulane could
struggle early against multiple look NFL defense.
Travis Brown is not mobile and has very little experience.
3.
San Francisco 49ers
Starter Tim Rattay is hobbled by a groin injury and
his back-up Ken Dorsey has never taken an NFL snap.
Cody Pickett, from the University of Washington is
a seventh round rookie. Brandon Boman was fourth string
last year and has never played a regular NFL game.
4.
New York Jets
The Jets are thin once you get past Chad Pennington.
Back-up Brooks Bollinger was a sixth round draft pick
in 2003 and did not play last year. Ricky Ray starred
in the CFL but has no NFL experience.
5.
Indianapolis Colts
Once past Payton Manning, the Colts are dangerously
thin at the quarterback spot. Last year back-ups,
Huard moved on and the Colts must rely on Joe Hamilton,
Cary Sauter, and rookie Jim Sorgi.
